The Library's online catalog, indexes books, e-books, pamphlets, and other material by subject, author, title, keyword, and call number. To search Voyager by subject, enter a term and click on "subject search" in the pull-down menu. Like most American academic libraries, LBCC Library uses Library of Congress subject headings, such as the following:

Find Articles
The Library subscribes to a number of online databases, which are accessible over the World Wide Web from the Library's homepage. Some databases need passwords. A handout of the passwords is available at the Reference Desk.
Gale Group Databases
Health & Wellness Resource Center
Includes all the contents of the Health Reference Center--Academic, as well as additional reference books, updated pamphlets, and web links. Gale database.
Health Reference Center – Academic
Provides articles from medical journals, consumer health magazines, health newsletters, reference books, topical overviews, and pamphlets on health topics. The full text of many articles and all reference books and pamphlets is included. Forty nursing journals are included in full-text, published over the past five years. Gale database.
ProQuest
Offers thousands of articles on a wide variety of topics. ProQuest provides access to approximately 1,500 scholarly and general interest periodicals, many of them full-text, covering all major fields of study in the humanities, social sciences, and science and technology. Dates of coverage vary, but some are available from 1985 to the present. The database is updated daily. Password required.
PsychInfo
Available at California State University, Long Beach. LBCC students may go to the CSULB Library in person and search this database. Bring your LBCC student i.d. and check in first with the Circulation Desk at CSULB Library.
THE database for all aspects of psychology research. Accesses 1,700 journals in all areas of psychology. Also includes references to dissertations, media, and books. updated quarterly. Some full-text journals available include: American Journal of Psychotherapy, Journal of Adolescent Research, Journal of Black Psychology, and Journal of General Psychology.
