Library Change Machine
Relieves Student Stress

Students who need to make photocopies or to print web, Excel®, or Word® documents in the LAC Library must first buy a copy card from a machine located on the first floor copier area. Cards cost $1.00; 50¢ is the cost of the card, and the remaining 50¢ will purchase 5 copies. Cards can be re-loaded, with dollars added to the value, and used indefinitely.

The machine that dispenses these copy cards will accept only quarters; upstairs (although in the Open Access Lab on second floor, there's another card dispenser that accepts dollar bills). Since change no longer is available at the LAC Library's Circulation Desk, students can now trade their dollar bills for quarters at a new change machine that was just installed near the copiers. "We're glad that we can again provide change within the building and still not jeopardize our ability to provide quick, efficient service at the Circulation Desk," said Dele Ukwu, LBCC Library Department Head. "We're also relieved and grateful that students won't need to roam the LAC campus any longer in search of change to make their copies."

At PCC, the library doesn't yet have a change machine; the service desk can provide change for $1.00; larger bills must be cashed elsewhere on campus.
