Exercise Your Borrowing Power:
Options for Locating and Using Information Resources
Looking for a book, article, or video for an assignment or report? Often you'll find just what you need in the library collections at LAC or PCC, either the "physical" collections-the paper copies on the library shelves-or the "virtual" collections-the thousands of full text/full image books and journals that are accessible through the library web page http://lib.lbcc.edu/Beyond LBCC Libraries
Recognizing that student and faculty information needs may extend beyond our local collections, however, LBCC Libraries provides options for extending your search:
- CSULB Library: LBCC Libraries have partnered with CSULB's University Library, and LBCC students, faculty, and staff with a current ID card can borrow books and media from CSULB's extensive collections and can access the library's over 100 research databases in the library's reference center on a space-available basis. Search COAST, the CSULB catalog at www.coast.csulb.edu. Pick up a guide to CSULB Library from the reference desk at LBCC libraries.
- Interlibrary Loan: LBCC Libraries will try to locate and borrow books and article copies needed by the LBCC community from libraries throughout the state, the region, and the U.S. To request a book complete the form at http://lib.lbcc.edu/forms/ill-form.html . For a periodical article use this form http://lib.lbcc.edu/forms/ill-articleform.html
