Library's E-Books and DVD's:
Check Them Out!
As promised in an earlier press release, information resources in two new and popular formats,
electronic books and dvd's, have now become part of the library's collections. You may choose from approximately 4500 e-book titles, including:
o Early Childhood Development and Its Variations
o Daring Missions of World War II
o Hindu Psychology: Its Meaning for the West
o Interpersonal Relationships
o Hitler and Naziism
o Windows 2000: the Complete ReferenceDiscover exciting DVD titles, such as:
o Selena
o Boyz 'n the Hood
o Last of the Mohicans
o Citizen Kane
o Lawrence of Arabia
o To Kill a Mockingbird"It's easy to find complete title lists for either format," according to Paula Nielson, Library Web Content Manager. "Just click on the library's online catalog, Voyager (http://voyager.lbcc.edu), and use a 'keyword search' to find the words 'dvd' or 'electronic books.' This will pull up the entire collections. (Include quotation marks in any keyword phrase used to search Voyager.) You can then sort the results by title to make browsing easier, if you wish."
To find an electronic book on a particular subject, again search by keyword, and enter something like +health +"electronic books" or +business +"electronic books."
What next? In order to "check out" a particular e-book, select and look at the record for that book, then click on the phrase next to "LINK TO RESOURCE". From within the library this will allow viewing of the book online. To view the e-book from home one must additionally set up a personal account with the sponsor of the book and create a unique username and password. You then will use this login each time you access a book from home.
