Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups, each with its own customs, traditions, and language. The major ethnic groups are: Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo (Ibo), Fulani, Ibibio, Kanuri, Edo, Tiv, Ijaw (Ijo), and Nupe. Hausa is the most widely spoken language in Nigeria. English is the lingua franca of Nigeria. Pidgin English is also widely spoken throughout the country.

Since I am a cataloger, I have decided to "catalog" Internet sites about Nigeria(ns). The purpose of this site is to provide a "one-stop" access to information about Nigeria and Nigerians available on the Internet. This is a selective compilation of sites on the Internet containing relevant information about Nigeria(ns). "Relevant" information to me means that the site linked to should have well researched, accurate and authoritative information about Nigeria and/or her people. There is leniency on comprehensiveness of coverage and timeliness of information or the topic(s) discussed or provided since not many people have the time to keep up with constantly updating their sites. When completed, this is intended to be an "Internet site of all Internet sites on Nigeria(ns)".
